Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Outlandory, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("Outlandory", "we") collects and uses personal information on outlandory.com and our shop tools. The short version: we collect what we need to run the marketplace, we share order details with the shop you buy from, and we do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

You give us:

  • Account details: name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Shipping and billing addresses, phone number and the licensed dealer (FFL) you choose for a firearm.
  • Your ZIP code or location, if you set one, to show nearby shops and distances.
  • Orders, auction bids, price alerts, saved items, My Gear, reviews and messages to shops or to us.
  • Questions you type into the Outlandory Guide.

Collected automatically:

  • Pages and products you view, searches, and clicks to shops' websites.
  • IP address, browser and device type, and timestamps, used for security, fraud prevention and rate limiting.

We do not collect your full card number. Card details go straight from your browser to the shop's payment processor.

How we use it

  • Run your account, place and track orders, run auctions and send order and alert emails.
  • Show relevant products, nearby shops and shipping restrictions for your location.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents, and enforce our Terms of Use.
  • Bill shops for click-outs and fees, which requires counting clicks and orders.
  • Improve search and the site, using aggregate data.
  • Meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Who we share it with

  • The shop you buy from gets what it needs to fill your order: name, contact details, shipping address, the items, and your chosen FFL for firearms. Each shop handles that information under its own privacy policy.
  • Your chosen FFL dealer receives the firearm and, through the shop, the order details needed for the transfer.
  • Service providers that run the site for us under contract, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processors chosen by each shop, and our AI provider for the Outlandory Guide (which receives your typed question, not your account details).
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, shops or the public.
  • Business transfers: if Outlandory is merged or sold, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies

We use only first-party cookies needed to run the site: your sign-in session, your cart, your location setting and a dismissed-notice flag. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy first.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is open. Order records are kept as long as needed for the shop's and our legal, tax and accounting obligations. Security logs are kept for a limited period. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize what we no longer need.

Your choices and rights

  • Update your account details any time in My Account.
  • Turn off price alerts and any marketing emails we send. Order and account emails are still sent.
  • Ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing support@outlandory.com. We will verify the request and respond within the time the law requires (generally 45 days).
  • Depending on your state, you may have additional rights under its privacy law. We honor them for all US users, and we will not treat you differently for using them. You can appeal a decision by replying to our response.

Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted storage for shop payment keys and access controls on our systems. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

Outlandory is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
