Firearms and FFL Transfers

Effective October 27, 2026

Firearms bought through Outlandory are sold by licensed shops and transferred to you by a licensed dealer near you. Outlandory never takes possession of a firearm and does not perform background checks. This policy explains how it works and what you are responsible for. It is general information, not legal advice.

How a firearm purchase works

  1. You choose an offer from a licensed shop and pick a federally licensed dealer (FFL) at checkout, from our search of the ATF's list of licensed dealers.
  2. The shop verifies your dealer's license and ships the firearm to that dealer, never to your home.
  3. Your dealer contacts you when it arrives. You complete ATF Form 4473 and the background check there, pay any transfer fee, and take possession if approved.

Offers marked Buy on shop's site follow the same rules on the shop's website.

Your responsibilities

  • Be legally allowed to own the firearm under federal, state and local law, where you live.
  • Meet the age limits: 21 for handguns and 18 for rifles and shotguns from a licensed dealer under federal law, or higher where your state requires.
  • Buy only for yourself or as a genuine gift. Buying for someone who pays you for it or cannot legally own a firearm is a straw purchase, a federal crime.
  • Answer Form 4473 truthfully.
  • Call your dealer before ordering to confirm they accept the transfer, their fee and their hours.
  • Check permits, waiting periods, rosters, feature rules and magazine limits that apply to you.

Shipping restriction notes

Product pages may show states, cities and counties a shop will not ship to, and search can filter to items you can buy in your state. These notes come from shops and distributors and are a guide only. Your dealer has the final word on what they can legally transfer to you.

Denials, delays and returns

If your background check is denied, or your dealer cannot legally transfer the firearm, the dealer cannot release it to you. Contact the shop through your order to arrange its return. Return shipping, restocking fees and refunds follow the shop's policy and the law; the dealer may still charge its fee. Delays are handled by your dealer under federal and state rules.

NFA items

Suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns and other National Firearms Act items require federal registration and approval before transfer. They ship to a dealer set up for NFA transfers and may take months. Confirm your state allows the item before you buy.

Ammunition, magazines and parts

Many states and cities regulate ammunition, magazines and certain parts. Some require ammunition to ship to a dealer or require a license or check to buy it. Shops may refuse or cancel orders they cannot legally ship to you.
